Electrical Engineer

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 (plus overtime opportunity), van & mileage paid, phone & tablet, workplace pension, private health care

Contract: Full time

Location: Gosport, Hampshire, with UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays

Powerworks provide ongoing maintenance and emergency service to a wide range of customers for their critical power needs, supporting IT & Communications, Healthcare, Education, Facilities Management, Defence, and Government & Councils.

Working alongside our other engineers, you’ll:

• Carry out electrical installation of our products on customer sites
• Carry out site surveys with sales staff to determine method and costing of installation
• Order materials for the works
• Carry out battery system installations and replacements

You’ll be trained in commissioning, fault finding and repair of our UPS products, and once trained will join our maintenance backup team on the on-call rota, attending customer sites as needed when a fault occurs. Our clients are located throughout the UK and expect critical systems to run 24/7, so a reasonable amount of travel - including occasional overnight stays - is required.

What we’re looking for:

• Level 3 NVQ Electrical & AM2, or HNC/HND/BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
• City & Guilds 2391-50 / 52
• IEE 18th Edition Regulations
• 3+ years’ industrial electrical experience, preferably with a NICEIC registered firm
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Good customer service and strong communication skills
• Organised, dependable and motivated
• CSCS card, and a clean, valid UK driving licence
